How to Vet an LED Video Wall Supplier (Without Getting Burned)
The questions to ask and the red flags to watch for — so you can judge any LED vendor on the things that actually matter.
“Where do I get an LED wall and how do I know they're legit?” is one of the most common questions exhibitors have — and the honest answer isn't a list of names, it's a set of criteria. Here's how to evaluate any supplier (including us) so you can tell a real partner from a reseller drop-shipping a screen.
- Service and support are the real cost of LED — ask who's on-site and what the spare/swap plan is.
- Confirm turnkey vs. screen-only so you're comparing the same thing.
- A good partner right-sizes pixel pitch to your viewing distance instead of upselling.
- Red flags: panel-only pricing, no show-day support, vague content/processing answers, no local logistics.
Ask about service and support first
With LED, service is the real cost. Each tile has its own electronics, so what happens when one fails on show morning matters more than the sticker price. Ask: Who's on-site during the show? What's the spare-tile and swap plan? What's the response time if something goes down? A supplier who can't answer is selling you a screen, not a working display.
Understand what you're actually buying
- Turnkey or screen-only? Confirm the quote includes the processor, structure, content prep, and labor — not just panels. See screen-only vs. full system.
- Build quality — ask about tile durability and how they keep panels flush and seamless. Component quality affects lifespan, but evaluate it by asking specifics, not by a brand claim.
- Right-sized spec — a good partner recommends a pixel pitch matched to your viewing distance rather than upselling the finest (most expensive) option.
Red flags
- A price that's only the panels, with the system “to be quoted later.”
- No clear on-site support or spares plan for show day.
- Vague answers about content resolution, processing, or who maps your graphics to the wall.
- No local install/logistics experience for your venue (Vegas has its own electrical/rigging rules and drayage).
Frequently asked
Should I just buy the cheapest LED wall I can find online?
Be careful — the cheapest listings are often panels only, with no processor, content prep, support, or local logistics. Judge a supplier on the service and the full system, not the headline panel price.
