Booth Reality Check

We look it up on the published floor plan and tell you three things nobody puts in the exhibitor kit: how tall the display rules actually let your stand build, who is standing next to you and how big they are, and how much of the hall can see you at a compliant 8-foot back wall versus a 16-foot in-booth tower — measured, not guessed.

What you get, in one page

  • The rule that applies to your stand. Inline and corner stands are usually capped at an 8 ft back wall with no hanging sign; peninsulas and islands may build to 16–20 ft. Which one you are is written in the floor plan, not the contract.
  • Your neighbours, measured. Every stand sharing a wall with yours, its footprint, and whether it may build taller than you.
  • Visibility at 8 ft vs 16 ft. A sightline model over every walkable point in your hall, weighted by aisle width, so "you'll stand out" becomes a number you can compare.
  • A 3D view from the aisle — your stand at both heights, among the real neighbours, at eye height.

How the height rule works

Most US shows adopt the IAEE display rules: a linear (inline) stand may build a back wall to about 8 ft with side rails to about 4 ft in the front half, and may not hang a sign. A peninsula can usually go to 16 ft; an island (aisles on all four sides) to 20 ft with a hanging sign. We read the number of aisle sides off the floor plan. The show's own exhibitor manual governs if it differs.

How visibility is measured

We rasterise the hall, keep every point a person can stand on, weight each by the width of the aisle it sits in (organisers widen the arteries on purpose), then ray-trace from every point to your stand at eye height over whatever your neighbours are allowed to build. The result is the share of the hall's walkable weight that can see your back wall. It is a model of where people can walk, not a turnstile count — compare stands and heights with it; never read it as attendance.

Why we built it

We install in these halls. The most common surprise we see on move-in day is an exhibitor who bought a tall display for an 8-foot stand, or an inline exhibitor who never knew the island next door would be 20 ft. Both are visible in the floor plan months before the show. This tool just reads it out. If the answer is "height won't help you", it says so.
